Monday Rahukalam And Yamagandam Timings

Monday Rahu Kaal, Yamagandam And Gulika Kaal Timings

Date : 20 Dec, 2019

Rahu Kaal, Yamagandam and Gulika Kaal are “not-so-auspicious hours” of the day for performing positive activities. The Vedic Astrology strictly prohibits people from performing anything good, holy or pious during these hours of the day.

The life-transforming moments have to strictly adhere to a shubh muhurat. However, there are those moments that are not vividly life changing, but can still impact your day-to-day lives. Take care, make sure not to perform any such activity that can change your life or impact it in any wrong way during these hours of the day- the Rahu Kaal, Yamagandam and the Gulika Kaal.

Yamagandam is the death time; only death ceremonies are performed during this time of the year.

Gulika Kaal is the time for Saturn’s son Gulika. During this time, it is said, if you perform any activity, it would repeat throughout again and again. Thus, refrain from doing anything negative during this part of the day.

The Nalla Nerum, is the methodology used to calculate the most auspicious hour of the day as per the Southern Indian beliefs.

Yamagandam

This is that time of the day, when death rites are performed for the deceased. These death rites obey the rules of Yama, the God of death as per Hindu mythology. Yama was the son of Surya and is the judge of Dharma (the righteous way of living).

Thus, it is believed, as per Vedic astrology, that performing any constructive act during this period would move towards its death and destruction and anything constructive will not gain a constructive momentum.

Gulika Kaal

Gulika, the son of Saturn, is a shadowy satellite of Saturn. It slows down actions, activities and is more auspicious for the third, sixth and eleventh houses. Gulika has no shape and even though shapeless, due to its impact it has been mentioned in the Puranas.

If you divide the day from sunrise to sunset by 8 units, then each of the divided periods or Kaal would be accountable for various actions and rites performed by humans.

As you may have known by now, that the Rahu Kaal is the eighth unit of the whole division. The rest of the seven units are assigned to the various planets.

The eighth portion is Rahu Kaal.

The seven portions are divided into seven planets and one of these portions that belong to Saturn, is actually the one belonging to Gulika.

It is interesting to note however, that great healers are born in this Gulika Kalam.

Consulting the Rahu Kaal, Yamagandam and Gulika Kaal is a way by which you can determine and prevent any inauspicious occurrences in your life’s important decisions. Thus, do not forget to refer the Rahu Kaal Calculator whenever you are thinking of starting something new or even for day to day activities.
