About Lord Ganesha Story of Birth
As per Hindu Scriptures, the birth history of lord ganesh in hindi traces back to an incident when Goddess Parvati was preparing for a bath at her abode Mt. Kailash. She created a boy out of the dirt of her body and breathed life into it. She named the boy as her son Ganesha and instructed him to guard the door. She told her to not allow anyone to enter the premises without seeking her permission. When Lord Shiva returned from meditation, Lord Ganesha denied Lord Shiva from entering the house. Angered at the defiance, Lord Shiva ordered Nandi and his followers to teach the boy a lesson. However, Shri Ganesh ji defeated everyone. Enraged by seeing all this, Lord Shiva struck the head of Shri Ganesh. When Parvati came to know about this incident, she grieved and demanded Lord Shiva to make her son, Lord ganesha alive again. To soothe Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva ordered Lord Brahma to find the head of the creature who is facing the North direction. Lord Brahma found a sleeping baby elephant and returned with its severed head. Lord Shiva attached the elephant head to Lord Sri Ganesha and breathed life into him again. Lord Shiva made him the leader of his troops and named him “Ganpati”. Also, Lord Shiva granted a boon that Ganesha God will be worshipped first before any auspicious work or the worship of any other deity.
