Sindoor Tritiya Significance and Celebration

Sindoor Tritiya is observed by the devotees on the third day of the Navratri festival. On this particular day, the devotees worship the third form of Goddess Durga, named Goddess Chandraghanta. In the states of North India, this day holds immense significance.

The ritual of Sindoor Tritiya is celebrated during Navratri as the occasion of Navratri is closely related with it. Sindoor (vermilion or the red powder) is one of the most essential and significant parts of various Hindu rituals and possess huge vitality while worshipping Goddess Durga. In the states of South India, the ritual of Sindoor Tritiya marks the conclusion of the first three days of Navratri festival.
