  • Worshipping Ancestors

It takes place three day prior to the festival of Hariyali Teej. In the Hindu lunar calendar, Shravana is the fifth month. This whole month of Shravan is regarded as auspicious for worshipping Lord Shiva.

During this time, people worship various deities in a hope to seek their blessings. Various charitable activities are also performed on this day as it is believed that these activities add merits to a person’s karma. People also worship the plants and trees to thank them.
