Since the age of teenage, Goddess Parvati wished to marry Lord Shiva and become his consort. To accomplish her desire, she followed a path of huge penance and austerity. Goddess Parvati started living only on the consumption of Bilva leaves and later she even restricted herself from eating those leaves too.
